The last work of the legend of Austrian structural film Kurt Kren follows up, in its topic, on his previous work 49/95 Tausendjahrekino, which was produced as a tailor-made film to commemorate the 100th anniversary of cinematography. The film includes a motif of tourists, which Kren develops again in his later works. Numerous tourists in Vienna take photos and have their photos taken in front of the Johann Strauss Jr. statue over and over again. And one of the persons documenting their travels is Kren himself.

Kurt Kren
V 70. a 80. letech žil v Německu a Spojených státech amerických.

He was born in 1929 in Vienna and passed in 1998 in Vienna as well. As a child, he lived in immigration in the Netherlands. In the fifties, he worked as a bank clerk, and at the same time also started to cooperate with artistic groups Strohkoffer and Art-Club. In 1952, he began experimenting with 8mm film. In the second half of the fifties, he started developing his own specific technique of editing 16mm film and began to mark his films with serial numbers and the years they were made in. Together with Peter Kubelka, he is considered one of the pioneers of structural film. In the sixties, Kren joined the Viennese actionists and his projects have been bordering on the illegal. In the seventies and eighties, Kren lived in Germany and the United States of America. By then, he had already had a number of exhibitions and film shows and his movies had become part of important collections of modern art. Kren returned to Austria in 1989.
