V roce 1949 označil Hans Richter zkreslení jako základní prvek v historii filmové avantgardy. Film Zkreslení se k tématu vrací a využívá ho jako autorský nástroj. Materiálním základem snímku jsou DVD kompilace kanonických experimentálních, efemérních a animovaných filmů. V každodenní práci s video soubory poukazují interference na poškozená data nebo přetížení počítače. V rytmické vizualizaci Lydie Nsiah doplněné finálně modulovanou zvukovou stopou Billy Roisz (destilovanou výchozího z vizuálního materiálu) se zkreslení navrací zpět do laboratoře avantgardy.

In 1949, Hans Richter determined distortion to be the basic element in the history of avant-garde film. The film Distortion returns to the theme and uses it as its own, creative tool. The material grounds of the lm is a DVD compilation of canonic experimental, ephemeral, and animated films. In the daily work with videos, interference of damaged data or overload of the computer are emphasized. In Lydie Nsiah’s rhythmical visualization, complimented finally by a modular sound track called Billy Roisz (destilled from the original visual material), distortion returns back to the laboratory of the avant-garde.

Narodila se v roce 1985. Žije a pracuje ve Vídni. Vystudovala filmová a mediální studia na Vídeňské univerzitě a videoart a digitální média na Akademii výtvarných umění. Působí jako umělkyně a badatelka se zaměřením na film a výtvarné umění. Ve svém díle se soustředí na transformaci pohyblivých i nepohyblivých obrazů a práci s archivními obrazy.

She was born in 1985. She lives and works in Vienna. She studied lm and media studies at the University of Vienna and video and digital media at the Academy of Fine Arts. She works as an artist and researcher with a focus on film and fine arts. In her work, she focuses on the transformation of both moving and still images, and working with archival images.
