Mladý filmový novinář a dokumentarista Jan Kučera v Burlesce nezapře svou fascinaci sovětskou montážní školou. Němé torzo nedokončeného zvukového filmu se ve střihové skladbě inspirovalo především tvorbou Dzigy Vertova, ale i studiemi Lva Kulešova a prací dalších filmařů. Další inspirační zdroj můžeme najít v surrealismu a francouzské avantgardě. Karetní filmová a triková hra metaforicky ilustruje archivní záběry z bojů první světové války v protikladu k motivu černobílé květiny.

The young film journalist and documentary filmmaker Jan Kučera’s fascination with the Soviet montage school is undeniable. The editing of the mute torso of an unfinished sound film was most of all inspired by the works of Dziga Vertov, but also by Lev Kuleshov’s studio and the works of other filmakers. Further sources of inspiration can be found in surrealism and French avant-garde. A film card and trick game metaphorically illustrates archive film recordings of WW1 battles in contrast to the black and white flowers.
