Slavný módní fotograf Dick Avery (inspirován skutečným fotografem Richardem Avedonem) a editorka módního časopisu Maggie Prescott objeví náhodně při focení v malém knihkupectví půvabnou majitelku a milovnici francouzské filozofie Jo Stockton. Rozhodnou se s ní nafotit velký editorial v Paříži, což Jo přijme, protože se zde chce setkat se svým idolem – profesorem Emilem Flostrem. Dá Jo nakonec přednost módnímu fotografovi před slavným francouzským filozofem?

The romantic musical with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire about a shy owner of a bookstore and a world-renowned fashion photographer earned its fame not only because of its great heroes and excellent music by the Gershwin brothers, but also for its stunning costumes and the visual elements of the film.
Famous fashion photographer Dick Avery (inspired by a real-life photographer by Richard Avedon) and fashion magazine editor Maggie Prescott randomly stumble upon the charming owner and French philosophy lover Jo Stockton at her small bookstore. They decide to photograph a large editorial with her in Paris, which Jo agrees to do particularly because she may have a chance to meet her idol – a professor Emile Flostre. Will Jo decide to choose the fashion photographer over the famous French philosopher?

Americký režisér a choreograf se proslavil zejména prací na filmových muzikálech, jako je Zpívání v dešti či Ve městě (oba spolurežíroval herec Gene Kelly), a spoluprací s hvězdnými herci Genem Kellym, Cary Grantem, Fredem Astairem, Audrey Hepburn či Ingrid Bergmanovou. Od 50. let 20. století natočil přes třicet filmů, posledním celovečerním dílem byla romantická komedie Za to může Rio s Michaelem Cainem, Michelle Johnson a Demi Moore.

Born in 1924. American director and choreographer Stanley Donen (born in 1924) is best known for his work in film musicals, such as Singin’ in the Rain or On the Town (both co-directed by Gene Kelly) and collaboration with star actors Gen Kelly, Cary Grant, Fred Astaire, Audrey Hepburn or Ingrid Bergman. Since the fifties, he has made over thirty films, and his last motion picture was once again a romantic comedy Blame It on Rio featuring Michael Cain, Michelle Johnson and Demi Moore.
